National award delight for The Doggy Day Care Centre Ltd
The Doggy Day Care Centre Ltd has been crowned Best Dog Day Care UK at the prestigious Pet Industry Federation Awards 2025.
Founded in 2018 by Jennifer and Andrew Cairns, The Doggy Day Care Centre has grown from a single site to five purpose-built day care centres across the Morpeth, Alnwick, Blyth and Whitley Bay areas – making it the largest dog day care provider in the region.
The business now cares for hundreds of dogs every day and employs a rapidly growing team of local staff.
Jennifer, co-founder and director, said: “To be recognised as the Best Dog Day Care in the UK at the Pet Industry Federation Awards is an unbelievable moment for our team.

“Everything we do is built around safety, structure, enrichment and genuine love for the dogs in our care. For a regional business from the North East to take home the national title makes us incredibly proud.”
The Doggy Day Care Centre plans to continue expanding, with future growth already in development as demand for professional, structured day care services continues to rise.
Andrew Cairns, co-founder and operations director, added: “We built this business from the ground up with one goal – to raise the standard of dog care.
“This award validates the dedication, training and passion our team brings every single day.”

The judges praised the company’s structured enrolment programme, personalised dog development reporting and innovative approach to creating a safe and stimulating environment for dogs.
The business also invests heavily in staff training, dog behaviour knowledge and enrichment-based activities.
