Morpeth Harriers pair win Brough Law fell race
Morpeth Harriers scored a double at the Brough Law fell race.
Carl Avery and Catriona Macdonald powered around the hills near Powburn in wet conditions to win with times of 38 minutes 28 seconds and 44 minutes 17 seconds respectively.

The race formed part of the North East Fell Running NECAA Championships, in which the best points from four of seven championship races count towards the Championship.
The winner of the male Open and female Open Championships automatically qualifies to represent the North East Counties in the annual Intercounties fell race.
Chris Larkin and Karen Robertson were last year’s king and queen of the hills.
Larkin holds the course record at Brough Law of 35 minutes and 23 seconds, set last year, while F. Blackett’s 40 minutes and 38 seconds run in 2012 remains the female record.
